About Ben

Benjamin Munda was only a couple of years into his career when he quit his dream job at a prestigious big-law firm and joined the Oklahoma County Public Defender's Office and found his calling as a defense attorney. Ben represented clients facing everything from simple drug possession to first-degree murder, and he tried those cases to juries. That work taught him what people without resources are up against, and it gave him a lasting love for the courtroom. In 2019, he received the Barry Albert Trial Lawyer of the Year award for Oklahoma County. After  five years as an Assistant Public Defender, Ben moved into private practice at Overman Legal Group, where he became a partner.

In 2026, he and his longtime colleague Blake Johnson co-founded Werden Law.  Ben practices exclusively criminal defense in state, federal, and municipal courts across Oklahoma. He's methodical, precise, and relentless in pursuing the argument no one else thought to make.

Ask Ben's clients what it's like to work with him, and you'll hear the same things. He's responsive. When you call, he calls back, and you're never left wondering where your case stands. He's thorough and knowledgeable, digging into every detail of the evidence and the law. He's a problem solver who looks for the path forward, even in cases that seem stacked against his client. Most of all, he's dedicated and empathetic. Ben understands that a criminal charge upends a person's whole life, and he treats every client as a person, not a case number. That belief  first drew him to defense work, and he still believes in fighting for the accused.
